Weekend Recap: PROPS! – LAX to CMH
Took a quick trip back to Columbus for the weekend.
It’s always good to be home during the Summertime. Caught up with family and stepped out for SDOTS birthday. Big shout to the Hatem family, @WesLexer and @GreezyFour3 showing me a good time. We’ve got to do it again sooner then later.
Sidenote: United / Continental needs to get there shit together.

The Adventures of… ItsAGirlThang! – Graduation
Howard University 2010 Commencement: Not a rare occurrence, yet unfortunately a frequently under-reported situation – that of Black Americans doing well, and doing good, as a way of life.
28 family members drove 200+ miles to see Isaiah Adams – our nephew, son, cousin, and grandson – receive his undergraduate degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. He is the eighth of his generation in our family to complete a post-secondary program (six were 4 year degrees).

Weekend Recap: Tour de Cure
Nor Cal Team in town for the Tour de Cure. Bounced around the city.
Friday: Happy hour’d all over @LA_Live, Frank & Hanks, Cha Cha, Tour De Downtown Bike race.
Saturday: Standard Rooftop, Partied in a parking lot with Spike Jones, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Mischa Barton, Not a big deal… (Name Dropping 101), Mayweather, Finished out West where I witnessed some of the strongest game of the year.
Pascual might be one of the realest to do it. Raged, 2 Hours of sleep, then biked 32 miles. Major props to the guys. As a team they raised over 6K for the American Diabetes Association.

Sports Sound Off: Big Ben
On the eve of the 2010 NFL draft, Commissioner Rodger GOD-dell & the Pittsburgh Steelers are going HARD. Big Ben Roethlisberger (owner of two Super Bowl rings), got his nuts cracked.
Does he deserve to get suspended 4-6 games & his ass on the trading block? Probably not. but his REP caught up to him. He crashes his motorcycle; no big deal, incidents happen. Allegations of sexual misconduct; come on man, QB in the NFL got plenty of gold diggers/groupies lined up. BUT like in any relationship, it’s never just one thing, it’s a cumulative thing.

This time last year we lined up for a raffle for a pair of sneakers. This weekend we lined up for the baptism for the first born.

With Spike Jonze at the helm as creative director the online television network produces original, short-form, documentary-style video content.

In the end, hip-hop is recalibrating, from a pop sensation back into an underground movement. People are making music for specialized, dedicated audiences, knowing that these audiences probably won’t make them rich. Sometimes they’re holding down day jobs or figuring out alternate ways of making money. Touring is important. And listeners have to go deeper than the most obvious stuff, digging through various localized underground scenes to find the worthwhile stuff. Sound familiar? From certain angles, rap’s current moment doesn’t look too different from, say, indie rock circa 1985. That’s a good place to be.

The Adventures of… PROPS! – Big In Japan
Trip of epic proportions.
Took a few hours to get warmed up, but ended up being the best city vacation I’ve ever had. Only draw back was us not speaking Japanese, I tend to over think that sort of thing though.Maldo did an exceptional job planning out the itinerary.
Linked up with Yone One for a nice session, Survived a couple a couple Earth quakes, and got my Anthony Bourdain on. Steve J. rolled back into town just in time and showed us some great spots. Just missed Sakura season, but will definitely be back to check it out.
All in All A+++ trip
