Sports Sound Off: WTF? – Mike & Mike

I love ESPN. When I die & go wherever I go, I hope there is an ESPN. I’m not just talking about TV, I’m speaking of ESPN radio, magazine & .COM. They got it covered.

This past Monday, on MLK day (1/17/10), on the morning radio show hosted by Mike Golic (former football player) & Mike Greenberg (self proclaimed metro-sexual), Mike G. says “celebrating on this Martin Luther COON day.” I heard about it the following day on the D.L. Hughley radio show. It was said fast but it was audible.

Here you have this guy working with all these different people from all walks of life, making such an ignorant comment. Now here comes the coup de grace (death blow). No on air apology, suspension or getting canned. A written statement was posted on ESPN Media Zone site offering an “I don’t know what all the fuss is all about apology”.

Hell, he probably got a raise! I say at least suspension to send a message. We all make mistakes. Flip the script & imagine Stewart Scott or Jalen Rose saying something like… “(You fill in the blank here)”.

I use to like that dude because he was a talker’s talker. I can’t respect that B.S. I mean how does say an Emmitt Smith have an interview with this guy? (other than the money).

I haven’t listened to them since the incident.
