Stimulate the Economy: Benjamin Bixby 2008-09 Fall/Spring Collection
Undoubtedly one of the most unique and creative intellectuals in the music scene, Outkast’s Andre 3000 has always been known for his eclectic style whether with music or fashion. Allowing his clothing line to do the talking, Benjamin Bixby thrives, takes inspiration from 1930’s vintage athletic garments creating a refined classic Americana look. The line’s tailored resemblance reflects old-world craftsmanship with an emphasis on vintage, collegiate pieces. Making it’s debut in London at Harrod’s this past week, Benjamin Bixby will be available at Barney’s New York as well. Stay tuned in the coming days for further looks into the collection. Sports Sound Off: Yankee Stadium Closes After 85 Years
For one last time, the sports world turned its attention to Yankee Stadium last night to bid adieu to the venerable old ballpark. Much like during this summer’s All-Star Game, Yankees greats both past and present dotted the field in a stirring pregame ceremony that was highlighted by Bernie Williams’ first appearance at The House That Ruth Built in two years.
What TV Does to You (Freakonomics Swipe)

While television viewing, especially by children, is a favorite bugaboo — it turns your mind to mush, it makes you violent, etc., etc., etc. — there’s a growing body of research suggesting that much of TV’s bad reputation is undeserved.

Sports Sound Off: The Ryder Cup
Ryder Cup (golf) without (w/o) Tiger = WHO CARES!
Now to the NFL: 0-2 vs. 2-0
Don’t read too much into teams that are 0-2 vs. 2-0. Injuries and how teams respond to them will determine the how teams seasons go.
Of course you want to be 2-0, but this does not guarantee the playoffs. (See 49ers last year). The Superbowl Champs NYC Giants were 0-2 this time last year. What you want to avoid is how the Saints started off. They were 0-4 and that my friend is the kiss of death. The Saints actually got back into the race, but fell short by week 14 or 15.
Don’t get too high or too low if your team is 0-2 or 2-0. You just can’t lose 4-5 in a row at any given point in the season. So let’s review:
0-3= On Life Support
0-4= Kiss of Death
3-0 = Looking Good
4-0= 80% Makes the Playoffs

Pickup Basketball: The Hacker’s(PROPS!) Commandments
Hooped last night in West Hollywood.
I was on my Bruce Bowen steez when we got behind. The other team kept complaining
I kept thinking of the Hackers Commandments and laughing to myself
We aren’t 100% guilty of all the Commandments, but we have most covered
Made a run at the end, but still took the L
We kind of like the Bad News Bears in the begining of the movie

British Invasion
To the chagrin of stylish New Yorkers, the opening of Topshop’s highly-anticipated Soho flagship was once again delayed. But the Brits threw us Yankees a bone by opening their e-commerce site to the states—giving even those in fly-over country access to its well-excuted, affordable design. Of course, only an English site would have a category dubbed “braces & umbrellas.”
The best part though is the recession-friendly pricing. If you bought everything on this page, it’d only set you back $335. And if that’s not enough saving, your first purchase comes with free shipping. (c) Valet Mag

Pedastrian Street Art by Peter Gibson
Peter Gibson (aka Roadsworth) began painting the streets of Montreal in the fall of 2001. He was motivated by a desire for more bike paths in the city and a questioning of “car culture” in general.
In the fall of 2004, Roadsworth was arrested for his nocturnal activities and charged with 53 counts of mischief. Despite the threat of heavy fines and a criminal record he received a relatively lenient sentence which he attributes in part to the public support he received subsequent to his arrest.
Since that time, Roadsworth has received various commissions for his work and continues to be active in both visual art and music.

Stimulate the Economy: Ransom Fall 2008 Collection
In my opinion it’s time to turn down the volume on all the 80′s color action and get back to the basics. RANSOM falls right in line with their new drop for this Fall. The collection will be rolling out on September 19th. The Canadian steez and influence on the collection is apparent, which I like very much.
